Dahlberg daisy
Thymophylla tenuiloba. This little guy popped up in the gravel outside the back door a couple of weeks ago. I had no idea what it was. It was not a Kansas wildflower! Finally I remembered that I had had something like this in one of the planters last year. When I checked the nursery ,.where I got my plants, there it was! According to the Missouri Botanical Garden, this is a perennial native to Mexico and Texas, but is usually grown as an annual. It is tiny. It grows to about 10 inches and the flowers are about 0.5 inches across . It makes a very nice plant in hanging baskets and containers. The leaves are aromatic, a bit lemony when you squeeze them.
Amother nice day, lots of yard work today!
