Peeking Through...

Spotted this cheery sight on our walk this afternoon. The sunflower peeking out from behind the leaves, just as the sun peeked through the clouds. Feels like the last days of Summer though.

It's cold in the evenings now, and we've been putting the electric blanket on as soon as we get into bed. Tonight we had our first roast dinner of the season (chicken, rosemary roast potatoes, bacon-wrapped chipolatas - oh, and some veg too!) and it felt 'right', autumnal. Mixture of feelings, sad Summer is leaving but excited about Autumn. Just hope we don't get *too* much rain before the thatching on our cottage roof is finished...
