Sedge Warbler At Frampton Marshes
Hometime!
We are back in Wales after an excellent break in Lincolnshire. We made our usual stop at Frampton Marshes RSPB Reserve on the way home. The last visit gave us a Black Winged Stilt, so we wondered if we could pick up something interesting this time. The answer was yes, the Black Necked Grebe that eluded us last time was still there, and this time (after a good half an hour in the hide) we managed to see it. I managed this fuzzy shot of it, it was a long way off, and that is just a tiny portion of the whole picture, it's a very heavy crop!
This rather obliging Sedge Warbler posed quite nicely for me whilst we were walking about. It clearly has chicks somewhere on the reserve, as that beak is rather laden with tasty morsels!
After a few enjoyable hours in the sunshine we wound our way back West to Wales, and almost back to reality. I am off to Newport Wetlands tomorrow to grab the sunshine whilst it shines for the next couple of days. It's back to rain come Thursday! *sigh*
