Last day in Beijing

Today started with a lie in (by our standards) as we departed the hotel at 8:30 to visit the Forbidden City. A sweltering 28°C today, after an hour at the Forbidden City, a few of us decided to head off back to Qianmen Street to do a bit of shopping and grab some food.

After spending the last of our money we headed back to the hotel to get ready, but first Lou ad I decided to go get a massage. I had a pedicure and foot massage - an hour long pampering for the equivalent of $25 while Lou had a massage and cupping on her back - not sure she anticipated the bruises though!

After getting all dressed up we headed out to Hua's Garden Restaurant for a Peking Duck dinner!! What a treat - it was also Gloria's 60th so we had a cake to celebrate.

An early return to the hotel to pack before our 5:30am departure.

I can't believe it's all gone so quick!
