Chairing

Sorted out some much needed stuff at work then trecked through the horrible drizzle to a ceremony to welcome new students and install a new Rector, who was then 'chaired' round the quad, carried by students. The Chancellor (Princess Anne, in black and gold robes) looked on with other staff and hoped he wouldn't fall off. At least the rain had stopped.
More royal duties this evening with dinner at the palace. Spent the evening talking to a brain surgeon who loves early music and a lawyer who loves rugby....
