Eye checks and a surprise visit

Today we took CJ and LJ to the eye department at the hospital for a check up. We had an appointment for CJ, but after taking LJ for a preliminary scan last week, we hoped they would be able to fit him in also, as his scan showed up a couple of things.

After talking to them about CJ's history, they decided that he didn't need a full eye test today (as he had one 8 weeks ago in Scotland) but as we had the slot booked, we could get LJ's tested. So, in went the drops and we waited while they dilated his eyes...

And the outcome - little LJ needs glasses, just like his brother and Dad. So we headed down the children's specialist centre to look at the options - which given his age were very limited (there were only 2). But we have ordered a pair that work well.

And after this busy day, we had a surprise visitor for dinner. It was lovely catching up with J, even if it was only for a short time.
