The climbing wall, Barry Island

If you were flying into Cardiff International Airport on a clear day and looking towards Barry Island, this children's climbing wall would be very visible.  The wall is covered in the words YNYS Y BARRI BARRY ISLAND which is made up from many thousands of coloured acrylic shapes relating to the islands past and present in words plus other shapes such as buckets and spades, ice cream cones, anchors and so on. It is a magnet for children of all ages. The construction of this wall on the Eastern Promenade was created by a chap called Gordon Young in 2014
