Circle of beauty

The strangely silvery sky and high wispy clouds had me looking out whenever I could and I was rewarded at lunchtime with this amazing 22 degree circle. It was so beautiful.

A woman asked me what I was photographing and I pointed it out to her. She couldn't see it, not at all! A man came along and he couldn't even look up as the effort seemed to make him dizzy. I felt amazed that this could be going on over peoples heads and they couldn't see it, not even when I tried to show them.

I have just found this excellent Atmospheric optics website so that I can learn to properly identify all these arcs, halos and rays.
