A Pied Stilt

Seen on the way back from Paerao this morning.

I have booked the airport shuttle next week, just in case they don't do as promised a back up plan has formed involving the helpful man from the Information Hub. And when in town it would be remiss not to go for a coffee and brioche in the wonderful cafe mentioned a few days ago. It was too early for a Cornish pasty, a shame I just fancied a take away to eat when on another wander in the hills. The walk decided on today on was closed due to land slippage, a gate with a padlock, the alternative route was good and looked over to the path on the other side that was closed. It is incredible to see what it takes to extract and produce gold, From where we are staying you wouldn't imagine all the workings and remains that are in place in the hills opposite.

If the extra works a board gave some information about how the rock was transferred over the river, a cable similar to a flying fox, we later came to the site where it landed and bits of cable lying around.
