Bird Progress

I have two close-ups of this bird in progress.
The first is its long-ropey neck.....I wanted
to portray an old neck--I ripped flannel sheet
in strips, soaked them in glue and wrapped that
around the armature, then painted it with enamel.
Its color will probably still change!

The second photo is a close-up of the feet;
I had great difficulties making this bird stand
without tipping over....All summer, it kept
falling forward or backward. I finally wired the
joints and anchored down the toes/feet with
wrapped Lake Superior stones and anchored
that on a hula hoop.  the dumb bird now
stands alone---FINALLY!
