the Churchill War Museum, London

The heart of the bunker-like rooms underground is the Map Room where, for the 6 years of WWII, Churchill's military command tracked, planned  and managed the war effort.  The entire site was closed and locked the day that peace was signed, and remained an untouched secret until opened more than 30 years later, and transformed into this fascinating museum, with many photos, videos, objects from the work done here, and also tracing Churchill's tumultuous life story.
