Day 4 and a Flaw in the Pattern.
My sweater pattern comes with an addition for optional waist shaping, which I chose because I fear looking boxy. However it wasn't until I was a dozen rows in to the option shaping that I noticed a flaw in the optional pattern. While the normal pattern includes a reasonable number of rows to create a sweater, the optional pattern section does not. It also had me start decreasing stiches for the waist high up in the middle of the bust. Luckily I am not a busty woman, and trying on the garment revealed that it fits just fine. The problem is now I doubt my pattern. A line of the instructions is clearly missing. I feel like I should take out the waist shaping, add a dozen rows and replace the waist shaping (it's just simple decreases followed by increases) farther down the bodice. BUT I am impatient and taking out a dozen rows will set me back, plus the sweater still fits. I will probably just add the dozens stiches now before replacing the increases, and hope the sweater has a more empire shape.
In other news I watched the Republican debate tonight with my strongly republican grandparents and almost ate my tongue trying to hide my disagreement and frustration.
