Grammar N'zi

Denglish, the b*stard spawn of two languages, sometimes it amuses me, sometimes I hate it, but the misuse of apostrophes* in either language makes me want to take the person responsible and use a crochet hook on their brain**.
I 'spoke'*** with the teen this morning, asking what they were doing on their last day in Dublin.
A 'City Rally' was the response...I had to google this via German google to find out what was meant by this particular phrase, because a rally to me conjures up pictures of cars racing about.

* that's a hard word to spell.
** like the Egyptians did.
