Common Darter

Well I think it's a Common Darter - not much of an authority on Dragonflies :)

I was up at the park at lunchtime and there wasn't much going on.  However this individual set down on the path right by me and I knew better than to get down to its level or think about changing to a more suitable lens so I just stood over it and took a few snaps.  

Usually they don't even land - just dart from spot to spot and I have absolutely no chance of grabbing a photo. 

It might not make a terribly exciting picture but heck - finally this year I manage to catch one!
