Ceilidh

Tonight I was taking photos at the Crichton University Freshers' Ceilidh at the Easterbrook Hall. It's always a challenge to produce good photos when the lights are dim and people are moving about like whirling dervishes..
Still, it was a great ceilidh, and the students seemed to be having a good time, especially the international students who hadn't tried Scottish dancing before.
The band was superb. They go by the name of Whigmaleerie, which is a Scots word for something like a fanciful notion or a piece of useless ornamentation.
Somehow it is past 2am.
