Ice Castle Pansies
I was late planting my pansies, and they were small plants. They've taken a long time to appear, hidden in the shadows and competing for light with larger plants.
When Dad visited, we had afternoon tea at the cafe in the garden centre where I'd bought them. I showed him the 'Ice Castle' pansies. They had all the soft, pastel colours of Mum, which was what had attracted me to them. I'm still waiting for all the Ice Castle colours to flower but this is a start.
The terracotta pot behind is part of my neighbours chimney pot, that came down in the September earthquake. He was using it as something to put his cigarette ends in on the edge of his lawn, but happily parted with it so I could put it in my Roma garden.
