Test Ride (no, not the tank!)
Harley Davidson Cheltenham this morning for the test drive to qualify for a competition.
You can win a 'dark' Harley of your choice and a biking adventure in the States.
Test rode a Street Bob as the Fat Boy hadn't been delivered in time. I didn't mind though and off I went Cheltenham - Tewkesbury (A38) - Ashchurch (for the photo with the tank) - back to Cheltenham via the M5 motorway.
Yes, it was great, I thoroughly enjoyed it. You could tell the power was there compared to the Shadows 750cc. The Street Bob was nearly 1600cc. When I got back to the showroom we had a chat over a coffee and a look at a couple of things I picked up on such as having to pick my foot up when changing down, easily fixed by moving the position of the gear lever a notch, and the indicators because I had to move my hands to operate them. the indicators can be equipped with an extender so this is obviously something that has come up before.
Would I buy a Harley, oh yes I definitely would but maybe not the Bob model, maybe go for a soft tail.
Anyway, the sales staff were brilliant, no pressure, no sales pitch, answered any questions perfectly, and not even a mention of finance options available just a cheery handshake goodbye and 'Hope to see you again'.
Fingers crossed for the competition!
