Ben Lomond
A glorious September day.
We took advantage of a special Scotrail offer of a £10 return ticket to anywhere in Scotland - and travelled from Dundee to Balloch, at the southern end of Loch Lomond. The weather was stunning the whole day.
We took a sail out on the Loch and were afforded with wonderful views of Ben Lomond. At 3,100 feet it is the most southerly of the Scottish Munros (mountains over 3,000 feet). The Loch itself is the largest freshwater area in the UK and is deeper than many parts of the Atlantic. We had a lovely Lunch and then Evening meal in the same Restaurant.
All in all, a fine day out - we were tired when we got home but I still had enough energy to watch a recording of Andy Murray's first match against Australia in the Davis Cup Semi-final!
