A Lively Affair

I have no idea what brought this expression to Julia's face. I only know that grandparent's day for third graders is an extremely lively affair. Compared to her brother, Bryce, who was beside himself with love and affection for his grandparents, Julia was very much into her peers. They were vocal, full of pleasure in one another's company. Every reaction was intense and over the top. Hilarity was the main reaction: to secrets told, to the crunch of carrots, to the perplexed expressions of adults. Life was marvelous, and life away from the classroom for a brief time was beyond marvelous. 

Sitting across the table between Maw Maw and Paw Paw, I took many pictures of Julia and her buddies, but, for me, this one says it all.
