I'm doing 20mph in a 20 zone, there's a particularly visible vehicle coming the other way, and a roundabout (and queued traffic) fewer than 100 yards ahead. Of COURSE that's a good place and time to put the foot down and overtake very very closely. Of course it is.

Even better when, less than half a mile ahead, you're stopping your journey.
