Almost time for Heya Beya
There was an afternoon organised for kiddies where they got to learn about Heya Beya.
Heya-beya is a century-old tradition considered the first lesson of sacrifice in the life of Bahraini children as every child watches over his or her plants for days before it is cast into the sea on the eve of Eid Al Adha.
Every year, parents encourage their children to plant heya-beya days before Eid, while others buy ready-made heya-beyas from the side of the road.
Baskets were handed out to the bigger kids and they planted their seeds and the little ones coloured in and made little sheep.
Looking forward to capturing special moments later this week.
