Stone Arthur

A splendid name for a Lakeland Fell and one of Wainright's 214 summits.  We've completed the list a couple of times and are now on our third round, so a visit to this peak above Grasmere in the sunshine was a pleasure this afternoon.  This is the summit cairn with a bit of a puddle, Grasmere below and in the far distance is Coniston Water.  The extras are a rather comely pic of Greenhead Gill catching the September sunshine on our way up and early morning mist on Lake Windermere  : )
