2015 Thursday -- Golden Sunset

We're back in Cayucos. Love it here! We left SoCal about 1:00 and arrived just shortly after 5:00. Our construction guys were gone.

So we walked through the house to see the place without walls. The pattern of the boards on the floor revealed the anatomy of the house; it appears to have been built in sections. It looks like there was originally no bedroom and no bathroom (really?).

The guys had saved a newspaper from 1941 which was found stuffed in a kitchen wall, and four different patterns of lineoum had been discovered as the floor was peeled away. The house looks so open and, even though this sounds ridiculous, it looks big.


After walking through the house, and acknowledging that we were experiencing warmer than usual weather, we decided to take the pups to the shoreline for their favorite thing to do -- walk on the sand.

Sunset happened as we enjoyed the sand, the sound, and the salty air. The pier is finished, but it's not open yet. So we're looking forward to all the fencing being removed and soon a walk out onto the pier.
