Crossing

I went out in this morning's mist (extra) along a route I rarely cycle and discovered about a kilometre stretch of laden apple trees along the side of the ring road. I rubbed the diesel fumes off (I hope) a couple of windfalls and discovered that they are good eating apples. I'm now trying to work out how they can be harvested and got to people who will appreciate them before they rot.

Praise to the planner who specified these 50 years ago - an Incredible Edible precursor.
