Caramacs & Monkey Socks

Cragside

Today's adventure was a trip to Cragside - the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity. We've been here once before, but only did the house and not the gardens. It was quite a misty day, but stayed dry. We were shocked at how busy it was, as it was a weekday, and the schools were all back - we had to join a really long queue to get in the house, but at least we had some entertainment from the man in front of us who kept joking about everything! I really wanted to read a lot of the information in the house and take everything in, but they let faaaaaar too many people in at one time and it got to the point that I just couldn't be bothered pushing in to have a turn at seeing things! I know they probably don't want to have unhappy people queuing outside for too long, but it was just too much.
When we got back to our cottage, the cat from next door came bounding across the lawn to see us, miaowing all the way! I spoke to it for a while, but it didn't want to leave, and wasn't too happy when I eventually shut the door, as you can see in my extra pic! (it's not a super long legged cat - it's sitting on a wall!)
