Kowhai Flowers with raindrops
Spring rain today, I went out between the showers to photograph flowers. The native Kowhai flowers looked beautiful covered with micro-sized raindrops. The rain clouds created a soft hazy light with no shadows that gave a sharp transparent look to the micro sized rain drops. Kowhai (pronounced Ko-fai) are a native New Zealand tree related to the pea or legume family, the birds love te sweet nectar in the flowers.
