smoke on the water

we have come back to an apocalyptic scenario in Calgary where the city is enveloped in a nasty acrid smoke cloud derived apparently from grass fires in Washington state. 
Sensibly i cycled into work yesterday and today and breathed in a lungful of the stuff.
