Timaru Courthouse

I can't find any information on the history of this building.
Obviously it was built in 1887, because it says so on the front. And I know that a hideous frontage which was built circa 1960's was removed a few years ago, to show the original structure. But that's it.

My extra photo is of the NZ Insulators building in Temuka, where the ceramic bit and pieces are made for the power poles and power boxes. I think they also make the famous Temuka pottery there.
