Herculaneum window

Had a great day visiting this fabulous Roman site. Close to Pompeii, it was engulfed in the Vesuvius eruption and buried under a gigantic flow of volcanic debris. This window once having an iron grill was filled with this and  completely blocked, now exposed you can see that the town must have disappeared in a few seconds.
