A beautiful day

Today has been beautifully sunny and bright - I had to get a photo showing the good weather as the rain is expected to come in tomorrow.

We spent the morning doing chores at home and then we all went out to lunch to celebrate Gavin's birthday, which is only next Friday but he leaves tomorrow to go to Australia for two weeks so he won't be home for his birthday. We had a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant that has recently undergone a change in ownership and after a refurbishment it has re-opened again. They had a very reasonable 3 course Sunday menu that was absolutely delicious, the best belly of pork I have ever eaten.

The river was looking very pretty in the late afternoon light and I liked the reflections.

Luke has two weeks left before he heads off to university but now he has been advised to go as soon as possible for pre-season rugby there. He is not sure what to do as he is enjoying his last two weeks at home...and he has tickets for the England v Wales match next Saturday...what a dilemma!
