Arria
Being a passenger on the way home meant I could snap things as we sped along the M80.
Arria is a sculpture by Andy Scott of Kelpies fame overlooking the road and Cumbernauld. Arria represents the coming together of the waters which is the meaning of Cumbernauld in Gaelic. She is named after Arria Fadilla, Emperor Antoninus's mum. I don't think she had four arms.
She was erected in August 2010 and supposedly caused controversy and resignations in the council due to the location overlooking the road, drew attention away from Cumbernauld. Certainly gets plenty of viewers where she is.
