Goodbye

Leaving today, so had to pass hoglet watch to a friendly neighbour. We planned to give Hector some more scrambled egg and then drop him around just before we left, but the neighbour turned up unexpected at about 12.00. We hadn't managed to get Hector to eat anything, and we were caught a little off guard, so there we stood, with our precious ward in a box, reluctant to hand him over. But we did. We said goodbye, watched the man walk away, and then both turned to each other and cried. Ridiculous I know, but we'd grown so attached to the little hog, and we were sad to see him go, to an unknown fate. We can only hope that he puts on enough weight before hibernation time kicks in. Humph.
