Organ Concert

We attended an organ concert this evening to celebrate the completion of the Ogden Utah Tabernacle Organ. This was the debut performance of this magnificent instrument. It was an interfaith concert featuring performances from master organists from several local churches.

The Ogden Utah Tabernacle recently underwent an extensive remodeling, including building and installing the new organ. It was built by H. Ronald Poll and Associates, Organ Builders, of Salt Lake City, Utah. Work on the new organ was started in May 2011, and took over four years to build. It features 51 ranks and 3,137 pipes. It has 3 manuals (keyboards) and pedals. Being an organist myself, it was really a treat to hear this one. Unfortunately, I am nowhere near qualified to play this instrument. But, I sure would like to get my hands on it.
