Layers of cloud

It seems very cold still, but we did get some glimmers of light today, and very little of  the promised rain.  The heavy downpours have been postponed until tomorrow (when we have a field trip planned).  It is always tempting to think that the weather may be better somewhere else, especially when sunlit snow slopes peep out from under the cloud.
