Among the trulli
We spent today walking along country lanes bordered by olive groves and vineyards dotted with trulli. The sky was blue, the air warm but fresh after yesterday's rain, and we pulled figs from great, spreading trees overhanging the path and ate them - I never ever do this!
This is a photo of a trullo (and yes, this is the singular, which no one seems to realise) - amazing structures built using dry-stane dyking techniques so that they could easily be rendered uninhabitable when the tax man came calling.
Cool, in both senses of the word ...
