Hahei

...and for those non kiwis, it is pronounced "Ha  Hay".

A long day today, leaving home at 7am to travel over 3 hours to Hahei for my good friends Mum's funeral. She lived in this coastal community on the Coromandel Peninsula, and the funeral was held in the community hall, it was a wonderful celebration of her life, and so good to be able to spend time with the family.

Before leaving I popped down to the beach, which really is a small piece of paradise. At this time of the year, it is reasonably quiet. Rather liked this couple enjoying their afternoon walk.

The extra is a view of the coast from the road home. Rather weary and not long out of bed.
