fixing the fells
That's the name for footpath improvement projects in the Lakes.
6+ miles today taking in Coniston Old Man and Dow Crag. An interesting walk up through the quarry with running commentary from my husband who is much more knowledgable about the history of mining and quarrying in the Lakes than I am. Good views for most of the walk though we occasionally found ourselves in the cloud.

First extra is pieces of slate which have been balanced in an arty sort of way, second the view from the trig point and third the mist on Dow Crag.
