St Albans Cathedral

A lovely day out today with my friends G, M and V in St Albans.  We started with tea and cake, took a guided tour round the cathedral, had a walk through the park, viewed an impressive Roman mosaic and then had a lovely lunch at a local hotel.

The main photo is of the High Altar Screen.  I'm not religious, but I found the carving impressive and loved how the light fell.  I've also included an extra photo of the Tower Ceiling depicting the red and white roses of the Houses of Lancaster and York.  The first battle of the War of the Roses was fought in St Albans in 1455.
