Wednesday in the Netherlands is known for several things, such as 'gehaktdag' meaning 'meatball day' referring to the traditional wednesday meal in the old days.

It's also known as the day that all primary school children have the afternoon off and the day that housewives go shopping at the market as it's also the traditional 'Marketday'
