Atlantis.

It was hard to chose today's Blip from the 98 pictures that I took on our visit to the Kennedy Space Station, so I chose the one that represented the most awesome moment of the day!
After watching an amazing film about the Atlantis space shuttle, the special effects revealed the actual shuttle behind the screen which was breathtaking.

The Space Shuttle Atlantis (Orbiter Vehicle DesignationOV‑104) was a Space Shuttle orbiter belonging to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Atlantis was the fourth operational and the second-to-last Space Shuttle built. Its maiden flight was from 3 to 7 October 1985.
Atlantis embarked on its 33rd and final mission, also the final mission of a space shuttle on 8 July 20 11. Atlantis landed for the final time at the Kennedy Space Center on 21 July 2011.
By the end of its final mission, Atlantis had orbited the Earth a total of 4,848 times, traveling nearly 126,000,000 mi (203,000,000 km) or more than 525 times the distance from the Earth to the Moon (Wiki).
The whole day was amazing.
”When I first looked back at the Earth, standing on the Moon, I cried.” lan Shepard talking about his time on the lunar surface during the Apollo 14 mission in February 1971.
”I didn’t feel like a giant. I felt very, very small.” Neil Armstrong on looking back at the Earth from the Moon in July 1969.
“Failure is not an option.” This quote is often attributed to NASA Flight Director Gene Kranz during the Apollo 13 rescue mission in April 1970, but he never actually said it.
“Okay, Houston, we’ve had a problem here.” Apollo 13 command module pilot John Swigert’s transmission to mission control when one of the spacecraft’s oxygen tanks exploded on 13 April 1970.
