Amber Fields of Corn
Today is Mabon, or Autumnal Equinox. Time for reflecting on the seeds that we planted early in the year and preparing to harvest the (hopefully) bountiful fruits of our labor.
Everything here seems to be turning a burnished gold and the afternoon light is dramatic and deep. One of the sure signs of Autumn's arrival is the corn harvest...already well underway here in Penns Valley, Pennsylvania. I snapped this photo of a neighboring farm on my daily afternoon walk. I love everything about the arrival of Autumn...ripened pumpkins and apples, the crisp sounds, the woodsy and earthy scents, and of course, the colors. Oh, the glorious colors. :)
