Colinton Church

It is thought that there has been a church on this site since 1095. It is known that a new church was built in 1636 . In 1666 the churchyard was used as a camp the night before the Battle of Rullion Green by the Covenanters.
The church was rebuilt by Robert Weir and William Watters to their design in 1771,other major alterations were carried out in 1908.

Here endith today history of an old church on a cold wet midsummers day, hope you had a nice one!
