Birthday Cake

This is the cake Mike decided he would like most for his birthday  - a simnel cake, ie a rich fruit cake with a layer of marzipan running through the middle of it, decorated with glazed prunes, apricots, walnuts and cherries.

He was given a bottle of 12 year old Highland Park for his birthday too, which goes exceedingly well with birthday cake!
