Accidental homage.

The girls had a day off school today. Their school is 95 or more percent Muslim and today was Eid-al-Adha and it would be pretty much empty, so we took the opportunity to get a bit of culture and visit the Joseph Cornell exhibition at the Royal Academy.
They loved and were inspired by the magical little worlds he created. As was I. The intensely personal and hand made objects of a life's work, like Kurt Schwitters' merzbild as well, appeal deep down in me. They fill me with optimism and possibilities. And joy.
So too the donation box on the landing outside the exhibition.
