Fractured knowledge?!

I showered, I dressed, I went out - eventually! Oh joy I now have my variable focus glasses back! I tried watching television without them but had to sit right in front of it like a child to see it clearly so gave up! I could only drive without my reading glasses, which meant I was in danger of hitting anything and everything, or wearing my long distance sunglasses, which meant I could not check my speed nor see very well if it was cloudy! Good job I had been in no fit state to go anywhere in the car really! Luckily I knew better than to try going anywhere at all, even walking was a mite disconcerting!
Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on ones point of view, the girl in the opticians did not have the experience with varifocals to fit them for me - ha! Her time will come! So I had to go back 20 minutes later. This meant I had time to wander around Tavistock! I spent a while photographing the windows on the church, I loved the sunlight through the leaves and the light bouncing off the windows. I then stopped at an antique stall in front of the market - somehow I walked away with 3 old Bhutan cloth purses, whose cords were all tangled together hence 3 not 1! Also an old sequined butterfly made into a cloth brooch,  a strange sort of french rug bag with a chicken on it in raised  fabric loops and a silver scallop dish that I realised was a salt holder. Next stop the market to find it a salt spoon! Who knew the variety of spoons one could buy! Found the perfect little one and then went on to buy 2 old rings! Shopping therapy - that's what I needed to make myself feel better! I should have known that!
Next stop was food for me, Gunther and the chickens. As usual I gazed longingly at the Herman tortoises, and stroked the dogs as their owners waited to be served. Interesting chat with one lady who was buying a huge snail, one lady who had asked what I was going to feed my locusts to, asked her what she was going to feed the snail to - she look horrified! It was to be her pet! She proceeded to tell me she was waiting for a spider, but as they could not yet tell the sex of them, she had to wait. I asked her which sex she prefered - female was the reply - the male spiders died after 5-6 years, but the females could go on until 15 or more years! Again - who knew!
So home with all my goodies and time with Tilly feeding her grapes! Her new feathers are coming through and i guess they must hurt as she still doesn't want to be held. There are so many just making their way out of the shafts. I swear I could stuff a small pillow with the ones she has discarded -and they all look perfect to me - but I guess she knows what's she's doing shedding them!
Finally time to visit the allotment girls and put them to bed - well they were in bed till they heard me and they all came tumbling out the coop to receive their bedtime treat! As I was cleaning the trays and putting the pellets away I heard the owl hooting nearby - but no sign of it. I had done some reading on moon photography, but the moon hid itself behind the clouds - typical - I should have known that would happen! Still, there are more nights before the 28th and the Blood Moon  to practise! I didn't know it was going to be a special moon till today! Did you know?!!!
