She finds happiness in the strangest places
Okay, so "peace and calm" has returned to Parkside and all of Cheylesmore says "yea" - will not exactly all of Cheylesmore - some folk are just saying "yawn"
As mentioned yesterday, She heard the "all clear" and bee-lined (literally) to that import from Seattle and enjoyed the serenity therein
Sigh
For those of you who have inquired (and shared your prayers) Steffi is 'okay', just 'okay' she has her voice - even if somewhat slowed and slurred - plus as of this morning, an improving if limited range of motion (slow and easy wins the race)
Honestly, I'm not at all good at handling this sort of situation, being an episode of Casualty (or even Holby City) Speaking of Holby - completely off topic I admit - the actor that plays Ric Griffin looks just like my cousin, a spitting image of him in fact (same swarmy-a** attitude as well) but then it could just be me.
So yeah, Steffi - they still say - will be fine (well not as once before, but close enough for government work, even in the U.K) it will take time, patience and lots and lots of parental understanding (on my part mostly)
She will be taking the Virgin down to Euston in a couple of hours and will be there over the weekend learning all that will be required when Steff is released - hopefully next Tuesday - and with Jenni, make all the arrangements regarding the therapy stuff and rehab people needed.
Not sure if Steff is being released to go "home" or to a rehab centre, but there you go
On the "bright" side of things, the emergency spleen surgery had no lingering ill-effects (like sutures or gloves left inside her) and should have no adverse issues going forward
Going to sleep, after one or two or three drams of Glenlivet, have a nice day folks
