Hornbeam seeds

A walk along the water of Leith from Slateford to Bog's MIll, and we saw this Hornbeam tree with these 'pagoda' shaped clusters of seeds. Not a native to Scotland, this may have been planted for its very hard wood. This would have been useful for the wooden mechanisms of the mills along the Water of Leith.
