WALKINGSTICK
I spotted this rare insect right in the middle of my neighbor's glass door. Since it wasn't the best place for a photo shoot, I moved it to my hydrangea bush. Lucky for me they're very slow moving, and with no wings it couldn't fly away. It was over 4 inches long. Notice how closely its legs resemble the tiny stems to each blossom, and the body looks exactly like a twig. Appropriately named, it definitely looks like a 'walking stick'!
Should have had a squirrel for today, but couldn't pass up this rare find. Happy 'Squirrel Blip Friday' - hope your weekend is terrific!
