Turkestan Shrike
Something in the bird world I've been wanting to photograph, but quite a bit different from my normal Wadi and shoreline birds this beautiful Turkestan Shrike I'm afraid I was very excited when I saw this bird, he's very fast and absolutely intent on his prey, moving around very quickly to get the best view of his prey, which is difficult when you are a bit static hanging out of the car window. Anyway he's after a Blue Agame lizard, which amazingly I also got a shot of! Strikes like to use thorns and barbs to secure their freshly caught prey and I'm afraid it helps them butcher the unfortunate animal(rodent) or lizard-thus the name Strike or 'Butcher bird'
