We picked up a hire car this morning in Las Vegas and drove via the Hoover Dam to Tusayan near the Grand Canyon.

The scenery was fabulous and part of the drive was on the famous Route 66, not that we will be following it any further.

We stopped for lunch at "Rednecks BBQ Ribs" in the one horse town of Kingman, a sleepy little place. Certainly no trouble parking.

Early night tonight before a big day at the Canyon tomorrow.
